Apprentice Development Program

Since 2010, we have been recruiting and training electrical and mechanical engineering apprentices. Working with local education and training partners, we've gone on to build our own Apprentice Development Program.

  • We encourage 'would be' apprentices to come and have a look at what we can offer
  • We then offer work experience to interested candidates
  • Followed by a formal interview for candidates who want to become apprentices
  • If successful, we then enrol apprentices into college
  • We develop their product knowledge and client interaction
  • Offer further education up to degree level if desired
Apprentice Development Program

Building great people

At Howorth, building great people is part of our business. Not only do we want to develop the next generation of engineers, we believe in developing great people too.

That's why when we bring new apprentices onboard we;

  • Actively engage with Parents or Guardians
  • Mutually develop a step by step progression plan
  • After initial training support further development by allowing study time
  • Support skilled staff to act as 'Mentors'
  • Encourage development in other skill sets

Our development program has been such a success, that we've now expanded it into other areas of the business such as administration, technical services, and design.
