Celebrating National Apprenticeship Week 2022

Posted:

Howorth Air Technology is delighted to be supporting National Apprenticeship Week, 7th-13th February, and this year’s theme, ‘Build the Future’.

Howorth currently has six apprentices working across the business as well as several former apprentices who have progressed to senior roles within the business.

Two service administrator apprentices, Stephanie Cooper and Holly Smith are studying NVQs in business administration. Based at our head office, they work closely with the healthcare service engineers to produce client reports and manage quotes and invoicing.

Our engineering apprentices include mechanical apprentices Ryan Ince and Giorgio Rava and electrical apprentices Cain Nealon and Daniel Hayes, who are all based at our new pharmaceutical facility at Ravens Lock.

Working closely with local training provider Alliance Learning and local colleges, apprentices usually have one day of study time each week.

Carlo Rava, Pharma Operations Director, is responsible for Howorth Air Tech’s apprenticeship programme.

He explained: “We are very proud of our apprentices and our apprenticeship programme which provides a structured career path and a structured pay scale.

“Our apprentices are the future and it’s great to be able to showcase their talents during National Apprenticeship Week. We recently had a visit from Andy Burnham, the Mayor of Greater Manchester, and it was our apprentices who showed him around.”

Howorth also works directly with local colleges to invite students for work experience, tailoring the experience to what they are good at and enjoy.

Peter Mucklow, Director, Apprenticeships, Education and Skills Funding Agency said: “National Apprenticeship Week is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the many benefits that apprenticeships bring to employers, individuals and the wider economy.

Apprenticeships build skills supply now and for the future, and form an important part of many organisations’ recruitment, skills and business strategies. We want employers to showcase how they are realising the return on their investment when apprentices are brought into the business.’’
